Lips On Skin

Words and Music by Ben Scott (c) 2008

Looking out to the offending window, crusty eyes scowl at the cold
Her books, shoes, clothes and potions scattered all around
And the blue and green ocean pattern duvet over which we fight nightly
Is a sea of calm flowing over human reefs of unfulfillment

And all gives way, all gives way
To the endless desperate disorder each day
She gives in to the delicate sin
Of tooth on teacup and lips on skin

He’s standing at the door, cups and teapot balanced in his hands
He stares at them with early-morning bird-like bleary mindlessness
And his virginal-white boxer-style underpants, they seem to glow so brightly
And everything fades from mind but the gentle ritual they will play, they will play

And all gives way, all gives way
To the endless desperate disorder each day
He gives in to the delicate sin
Of tooth on teacup and lips on skin

Repeat chorus
